Why those challenges … again!
Didn’t we all face a difficult time, yet again, and thought! Why? Why is this showing up into my life!
There might be several reasons for that, depending on the lance we put on or perhaps one could say that it is just life unfolding! Perhaps what we could agree on is that situations and circumstances that seem to happen over and over again are definitely unfolding; we are most likely struggling with them because we apply our own models and experiences to them! Let me put it in another way. I might have a hard time dealing with stress around money in my life. For you, if you were in the same situation, we would not stress as much or not at all! Obviously, your past experiences and your view on the situation are helping you in this stance.
Hence, all situations we face are a reflection of our own story.
So I can we start to change that? I’ve explored this in a long video lately, where you can take your time with me, if you feel so inspired, to unpack this. The main two areas that I’ve explored were the psychological and spiritual realm.
Let me summarize it.
Victim or Creator?
In his great book, The Power of TED, my friend David Emerald suggests two dynamics by which we can lead our lives! The first is one where being the victim of what is happening to us dictates the way! You know this “why me” comment to yourself or that you hear from others! That does not smell good! Basically, in this drama triangle, we are giving all of our power away! Our courage, resilience, hope, meaningful actions, will go out the window and we are left spinning down this vicious cycle of life sucking!
Alternatively, we can be the creator of our own life! Yes, it is not always going to be rosy and dovey but we know that we have inside of us, the strength to live through those situations and also (most importantly) learn from them! We can challenge and coach ourselves and others through it. There is a totally different approach to live when you operate from that stance. You now embark on the virtuous journey as I call it.
Karma
Many traditions have been explaining to us that we do come into this world with a karmic debt! Cultivated over many lifetimes, we experience life with the opportunity to heal parts of ourselves and grow into a whole being. It is said that oneness or enlightenment is the ultimate purpose!
Perhaps you are a younger soul, which purpose here is to learn and understand your path. Perhaps you are an older soul which mission is to educate and help others since you are much further on your own spiritual path!
We shall then see karma as two-fold.
An opportunity to work out our “stuff”, that we came here to heal and grow out of.
An equal opportunity to do good in this life that we have the blessing to experience. The law of cause and effect is valuable to keep in mind here! Therefore the next time you want to tell off your partner or employee for something that you are in reaction too, or you want to punish your kids because they are taking too much time getting out of school and making you wait… know that the law of cause and effect will respond to your actions.
Ultimately, I shall invite you to work with yourself. Within! There is an inner work to heal, grow and transform ourselves that is needed from all of us. Honouring and accepting our life path is also a crucial element, as I discuss in that talk!
This applies to all of us, from all walks of life! Whether you are a leader, employee, professional, blue-collar worker, a parent, etc.! There is no exception to this one ;)
If this is something you’d like to explore with me! Reach out and let’s chat soul to soul!
Until then, remember, it’s always an inside job ;)!
In peace and love,
🙏💜
